Remembering Raymond Taavel

Published on Apr 29, 2012

This video, produced by the family of Raymond Taavel using news footage and photography, was shown at his funeral service on April 29, 2012.

The family was largely unaware of the huge impact Ray has made on Halifax, Nova Scotia, the whole of Canada and the LGBT communities, and so the extensive Canada-wide news coverage and outpouring of love and support from everyone was quite unexpected but made this huge loss a little easier.

This video compilation was shown at his funeral so his whole family will know how widely Ray was loved and respected, and to see the impact of the work he’d been doing while living away from his family in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
